Excited to announce that I will be one of an amazing roster of speakers next month as part of Stand Out! Photographic Forums’ tour of the west coast in conjunction with Phase One and Leaf Mamiya. I’ll be In San Francisco October 18th to discuss creative collaboration and pursuing conceptual work with clients.

You can see more info and a list of all the very talented speakers they’ve lined up at http://www.standoutphotoforum.com/

Back in July IEEE approached us to concept for a story about the threat of electromagnetic bombs. The fully framed room was built over three days, and the exterior was veneered with a rusted metal paneling. The servers are a CGI creation by Swell NY, integrated by Dan in post production. Thanks to stylist Birte Von Kampen for your plexi briefcase building skills, Hair/Mu artist Amy Gilespie and to photo director Randi Klett for the awesome project!

Out hunting for props this week!

Back in June we were asked to shoot the “Best of the Best” for Field & Stream Magazine. For this project we had the opportunity to go on location near Mt. Adams in Washington where we made use of many varying kinds of terrain, from an Aspen grove to Douglas Fir forest areas. We camped for two nights, setting up during the day and shooting at dusk and into the night.

Fog machines and fog spray were used in many of the shots, see behind-the-scenes photos of crew fogging up a dusk shot in the Aspen grove. Behind-the-scenes photos also show prop stylist Dominique Baynes with crew mudding up the Polaris ATV in-studio for the cover shot. Shooting multiple shots at night required set-moving in the dark and late hours- hammock naps in the Penske were required during the day.

Check out the August issue of Field & Stream to see more gear photos on location. Hanging out in the woods with this group was a blast! Thanks so much to John Toolan for the great project and to Prop Stylist Dominique Baynes for styling in the dark!
